Course Description
This 2-credit class will prepare you for the 8-credit Summer Abroad in Oxford Program. We will be learning about Oxford University and Britain more generally while also starting to take a look at the kinds of research and writing that will be asked of you. You will also have an opportunity to meet with the people who have a hand in running this program: Brian Reed (English), Julie Villegas (Honors), and Jill McKinstrey (UW Libraries).
Required Texts
Materials will be made available to you as handouts or electronically as the quarter progresses. If you have to miss a session for whatever reason, contact Brian to find out what you should be reading or viewing.

Blog Entries
On 11 April, you will be setting up the blogs that you will be using for both the remainder of the spring and during the summer program. You will be required to post once a week, starting the week of 18 April, for a total of seven required entries, by the end of the week of 30 May. An entry can be of any length, from a short paragraph to several screens, but it should in some fashion relate to the program, the readings, the overall topic, or the general experience.
